What members say about our AMAZING history...

On June 18th The Harbor Club celebrated, and in spectacular fashion.  Their 50th Anniversary was an unforgettable dinner and evening.  The evening MC was done by the amazing Patti Payne and as usual, she was incredible.  Tom Goodenow, CEO of the Harbor Club, gave his sincere thanks and appreciation to past board members and many others who helped bring the club to the point where it could be one of the premier private clubs in Seattle/Bellevue.  The evening was capped by an incredible video produced by RJ McHatton of Inventive Productions.

But just in case you weren't able to get a ticket to attend the event, I have included the video that everyone who attended got the pleasure of viewing.  Here it is...CONGRATS Harbor Club!!

HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY Harbor Club!!!

Today marks an incredibly important day in the life of The Harbor Club and its members - it turns 50 years old today, June 10th, 2010.  The Club was born on June 10th, 1960.  This is a remarkable accomplishment and acknowledgment to all the members, past and present, that have had a hand in making this a truly exceptional Club and a place where history has been made in both Seattle and Eastside.  Happy Birthday.

In honor and recognition of this historical event, Christine Gregoire, Governor of the State of Washington, took time to write a personal letter to all the members of The Harbor Club to recognize this as a critical part of Washington's history.  Please join us as we celebrate this momentous occasion.  Click on the image of the letter to enlarge it.

The actual celebration dinner, The Harbor Club 50th Anniversary Jubilee, will be held next Friday, June 18th at The Harbor Club in Seattle.  If you would like to join us, this promises to be a very memorable event and will have some special take-away's to complement your memory of the event and to celebrate 50 years.

Harbor Club embraces Charitable Organizations

One of the important parts of The Harbor Club landscape of history is how they have embraced not one but many charitable organizations. When Don Poggi was President of the Board, he not only helped the club grow in many different ways but he also embraced a very important part of our history.

Don talks about his passion and desire to give back to the community where The Harbor Club was resident. Besides being a great President and bringing some very fresh and innovative ideas to the club, he also brought his passion to helping more in the community. One interesting fact many don't realize about The Harbor Club is that is, itself, a registered not-for-profit organization.

There are a number of Charities The Harbor Club hosts and supports, giving back by donating time, services and products to these auctions as their way giving back as well. Her are some of these great Charities:

Mike Flynn shares the story of PSBJ Live

Mike Flynn has been an icon in the business community of Seattle for a long time - not just from being part of it but reporting on it.  As the past publisher of the Puget Sound Business Journal, Mike saw it all happening right in front of him every day.

The Harbor Club was fortunate enough to have the good fortune of working with Mike and his son Michael as they worked together to put some Executive Forums together so the business community could hear from the leaders in our area.  Mike shares one of his stories about how the incredibly successful PSBJ Live event got its start and what made it a key event for business leaders in Seattle.

A legend in Harbor Club Membership

Over the years The Harbor Club has been focused on different membership drives to help educate prospective members about the many advantages from being a member of The Harbor Club.  While promotions are not a regular event, membership is always on the mind of Tom Goodenow and The Board of Governors.

In years past, it was also on the mind of one of the most supportive members of the Club - a gentleman by the name of Tom Rogers.  Tom has been a member of The Harbor Club for more than 20 years and one thing that can be said of Tom, there wasn't a day that went by where he wasn't talking about and promoting the Club and the benefits of being a member.

Tom holds a very distinct honor in the history of The Harbor Club.  He was the one member who during one of the promotions being held, The Club Regatta, he actually brought in over 100 members himself!  Yes, the number is correct, over 100 members.  There are many members today that have enjoyed the benefits of the Club thanks to Tom Rogers introducing them.  We honor Tom and want to thank him for his dedication and commitment to the Club over the years - Tom, you have made it a greater place for all of us by introducing some wonderful members and allowing us to all share in having them aboard.  Thank you Tom.
